I like the idea of silent push compared to standard notifications. Especially after Moz saying about 99% of notification prompts go unaccepted, with 48% being actively denied by the user.

But the question is would people know/care to go through the fuss of adding to the homescreen and then being asked to opt into notifications. I haven’t seen many positive reports on people installing websites to their phone so I think the use case would be very low.

But as I said the concept seems to be a lot better than how notifications work right now.
